Hip Hip Hooray, I am the featured single page designer this month for Stick it Down! I actually designed the sketch this month and they featured my layout for the design team. Here is the sketch: This is the layout that I created: I absolutely love how fun this layout is! I used the Stampin Up! scallop edge punch and layered the paper strips but felt like it needed a little bit more dimension. So I dug through my dusty and forgotten about ribbon bin and found some fun lace and ruffled fibers and layered them in between the paper…

I am so excited to share my layout this month because I also designed the sketch!!! Here is the sketch I designed and used, you can also find it and the link to post YOUR layout to win prizes on the Stick it Down Blog. As a creature of habit I stuck to the lovey hearts and cute theme of the month. I love that this sketch allows you to use up your supplies like washi or ephemera or scraps of paper that we have laying around without having to dive too deeply into new supplies or needing to buy…

I am this year off with bang so far two weeks in and my planner is up to date and I am already scrappin' events as they happen! WHOA! For my first layout I have been generously allowed to stay a part of the Stick it Down Design team! I am still on the Single Page Layout team, but I also have been desinging a several of their double and single page sketches, YAY! So, for the first layout of 2019 I used the Stick it Down Sketch found here. I kept this layout as simple as I could so…

Happy December! I am here today to share with you my layout from the Stick it Down Single Page Sketch. When I saw the sketch I was puzzled, I wasn't sure how I was going to pull this off. So I looked at the other design team layouts and thought I would follow suit and use a cut file. As I cruised through the Silhouette Store and added about 12 wreath files to my cart it had then occurred to me that a few months back my friend sent me a home decor image of someone who folded papers around…

For this months Single Page Sketch on Stick it Down I decided to really think out side of the usual. As soon as I saw the sketch I was slightly confused by what I was going to do, then I saw a bag of 2018 confetti and "ta da" so here is my take on the sketch you can find here on the Stick it Down blog. For this layout I started with the Simple Stories "Congrats Grad" paper pack, I didn't like the bottom where it said "way to go" (I thought it would be too clashy with the…

For the June Sketch Challenge I decided to break the mold and do an all out "magical" layout. I pulled out all of the tricks in my book here and I really love the end result. I need to get out of my comfort zone more often because pages like this really make my heart happy! I am providing a link to the sketch here for you to play along! For my layout I turned the sketch 90 degrees because the photo I chose was not vertical. Once I make a move like this I tend to muddy the whole…

I am trying to get back into scrapbooking. I have so many photos and stories that I need to catch up on. To help I have found a new group Stick it Down who provides challenges and has given me that motivation to jump back into the rhythm. I used their May Single Page Sketch to create this layout of what life looks like for my teenager right now. I used their sketch found here to create sections of this pie chart representing things she loves: basketball, her music, art, friends and family, "I'm so bored" aka chores and school,…

Bokeh Technique

Written by
Good afternoon! Today's bokeh technique is brought to you by the one and only, wonderful Stacy Buller. She made this card and I basically begged and pleaded with her to teach us all! So here we go... enjoy, and Thank you Stacy! <3 For this technique you will need: Watercolor paper 3-4 colors of Distress inks, including Picket Fence (although in the video that inspired this she used a Mixed Media white ink by Colorbox) 1- Cut your watercolor paper to the desired size. 2- Spritz paper with water making sure it is nice and wet. 3. Rub your distress…

I want to first explain how I use my planner, (if you don't want to read this story skip down to "So you have your planner, Now what?" I don't do it like most people. In 2012 I jumped on the Project Life bandwagon... by March I had fallen off. In 2013, I started it again with high hopes and good intentions. By late February I was doubled over in morning sickness and that was the end. So comes 2014... yes I got this! I didn't even make it through January! UGH. When the planner craze hit and I went…

Let me start this story by saying I had seen something inspiring on FB which led me to an Instagram account which led me to another IG account which led me to a hashtag and on and on this goes somedays and when all of a sudden *BOOM* I saw this post by @flamingoplanner about a digital planner. Surly not, this is silly, it looked JUST like an Erin Condren this could not be.... say what! Well the rabbit hole went on, all. Night. Long! I was fascinated... I LOVE my planner, I kind of love buying all the supplies…
