I am so excited to share my layout this month because I also designed the sketch!!!
Here is the sketch I designed and used, you can also find it and the link to post YOUR layout to win prizes on the Stick it Down Blog. As a creature of habit I stuck to the lovey hearts and cute theme of the month. I love that this sketch allows you to use up your supplies like washi or ephemera or scraps of paper that we have laying around without having to dive too deeply into new supplies or needing to buy new things! I hope you utilize this opportunity to use up what you have too!
Here is my layout, I kept it pretty simple. I knew as soon as I was looking through photos what I was going to do. Right now the whole "then and now" challenge thing is huge on social media. "Post a photo of you 10 years ago and then now." Since my husband and I recently went on a date I knew we had a now picture... and since we had just started dating 10 years ago I knew it would be easy to find a "then" picture! Ha.
To create this layout I cut a giant heart out of pink ombre paper and then simply chopped it half. I then cheated and used the other half to cut out a vellum piece. I did this because I *knew* the washi would not stick to the glitter base for the heart. Once I adhered the heart to a large piece of glitter cardstock, I hand trimmed around the heart for the matting. I didn't really care or want it to be perfect.
Once my heart was set, I literally got out my "love" themed washi box and just went to town. I started with the center and worked my way up angling and adding washi as I pleased. Some ends I tore, some I cut into banner shapes.
Once I was pleased with the result, I sewed around the heart (sloppily) to make it look messy and imperfect. then I added a few embellishments and decided that the photos needed to have the rose gold matting also.
Finally I added the 2009 and 2019 letters from Making Memories Alphabet set and the "Now and Then" title from a Recollections alpha set I had stashed away!
I hope you enjoyed my layout and process! Please feel free to share yours with us on the Stick it Down blog for some prizes and giveaways!
