December 2019 Sketch and Layout

This month I was once again the designer of the sketch for the Single Page Design Team.  I love designing sketches almost as much as I love making layouts!  Seeing all of the creativity and the beautiful layouts really is such a joy!  You can see some of the other talented artists on the Stick it Down Blog here

For my layout I went full on Christmas.  This was the first year, in several, that we had taken a family photo.  So it seemed fairly obvious that I should scrap and TREASURE such an event!   Here is the layout that I created:

Clearly breaking my own rules and sketch, I had to find a way to incorporate all of the kids' individual pictures on the layout as well.  I LOVE how this turned out.

I used glittery vinyl from the Target dollar spot and cut it down to frame the photos and then I double matted them with glittery gold cardstock (from Michaels).  I used the "plaid" paper collection from Hobby Lobby seasonal paper pad and cut the strips.  Using a Stampin Up scallop circle punch (and nearly breaking it, yikes!)  I cut the circles for the "2019" title out of the gold glitter cardstock and used some black glitter Thickers numbers to highlight the year.

I felt like the strips needed a little bit more so I added strips of rhinestone down the edges alternating the white and red.  Finally I added some random (I think Dollar Tree) gift bow to the opposite edge. Usually I tend to add tons of ephemera or doodads of the sparkly nature, but I wanted to keep this "simple" to just showcase what my family looks like right now.

Thank you so much for looking!  And if you play along, be sure to post on the Stick it Down blog for a chance at some prizes and or tag #stickitdown or #livelaughlovetoscrap on IG for some love!
