So you have a Silhouette machine...WOOHOO! Let me guess, unless you buy the item from the Silhouette store to cut out it doesn't get used much right? WRONG...! I am going to help fix the fear factor in using your Silhouette! I know I was there too... "Wow there's a lot of buttons.. what do they do?" "How do I make these things that people are posting on their blog / pinterest?" "Change the settings... yeah, um, no thank you!" "Well I tried that and it didn't work... I'm just going to stick to quick simple cuts." Sound familiar? I…

Phew I did it.. all 7 days. In hindsight I think "not bad for my first year" I know next year what to do differently. What different pics I missed out on this time that I want to remember for next time.. but all in all I am very pleased. I think I captured the essentials of what our life currently looks like... or close to it. I got the words down and the pics taken. So for me, that's a win. Today's pics and words: Started like most this week. A few mid morning feedings, as usual baby cakes…

I woke up at 243am and wander to the bed. I sneak into the bed careful not to wake a quietly sleeping baby! As I slither under the covers I look over and ask myself "when did I become a co sleeping parent?" NONE of my other babes were given this status of being able to sleep in the bed with me time after time, or nursing to sleep. I am sure I am setting myself up for trouble but she can't sleep in the nursery with Kelsey because Kelsey refuses to sleep and instead goes bonkers and jump up…

Snuck in a quick hug at 350am when the boy finally came home after a long, long summer away. I am so happy to wake up and have the whole family together again. My heart can resume it's normal rhythm. Shipped Kelsey up to get a morning hug, she was sooo happy to see "buh-buh" and he happily awoke after only 6 hours of sleep to see her and everyone else. Everyone slept in late... even kelsey. She isn't feeling 100% so it was nice to sleep without interruption until now! I decided to run out and grab chocolate chips…

I have to admit the mundane things are being neglected this week... not because I am not keeping track of them I am not doing them. Typically I do several loads of laundry per week, cook at least one or two dinners, and straighten stuff up. I won't lie my last shower was on Tuesday... it's just that kind of week. But don't fear I showered this morning, I promise ;) The day started as normal... early 730 wake with littles and then napped again until 930am. I am becoming a morning person. I NEVER used to be a morning…

Same ol' same ol start, too early of a morning... baby feeding and then a hope for a snooze on the couch. John went for a short run... this marathon training ain't for the birds! He left by 1030 for work- a lot of playing these days as work is just not what is used to be. A little bit of Doc McStuffins for the little. Then a nap.. for all of us. 137pm: After naps I finally gave Kelsey her new Super girl / Princess set I bought months ago... she loved it! 212pm: It was a late lunch…

Today was a little bit easier to document..although I forgot a lot of pictures it was all about survival and getting through the busy moments. Being as how I didn't go to bed until Tuesday was already in progress this was a bit of a surprise 352am. She is lucky she's cute! I don't know how she figures out I have to be up early in the morning but she sure makes sure that sleep isn't top priority! 721am Taryn came home from her sleepover. All night I wondered if it was a test of my parenting or of her…

So I had this GRAND idea of how this week was supposed to go, the pictures I would take, and how it would all come together. I had originally decided to do it last week because I felt inspired so began the heavy documenting and photo taking. Then about half way through the week it fizzled. John left with kelsey and it was just me and Taryn. Then Taryn went to LA with my sister for some auntie time... see where I am going with this. I ended up giving up *sigh* another project down the tubes. Then the official …

Week 1: Make Your Own Embellishments

Written by
Each week we are going to use bits and pieces to include scraps to make our own embellishments. No need to spend upwards of $3.99 for all those cutesie embellies on the shelves! We are perfectly capable of making just as unique items that actually fit the pages we are making rather than buying and hoarding the bits and baubles that are all the rage. Follow along with me during the month where we will cover using your punches, stamps, and random letters to make 30 different beautiful embellishments! All of these embellishments are super fun and easy. I wanted…
So you have all of these amazing journal cards, now what? We have been working hard on challenges and ways to use your journal cards other than the pocket style scrapping. Check out our list and examples below: 1) Print on them... skies the limit here. Print journaling, pictures, doodles, clip art. Use this handy tutorial and PSE template on how to orient your cards and make for super quick printing! 2) Use them as mats for photos or backgrounds for embellishing. In this example I have added some embellishments to some mini 2x2 journal cards as the page decoration.…
